At Uber, we’re committed to supporting our partners by providing them the feedback needed to improve their star ratings. In recent driver surveys, rider feedback was the #1 item drivers requested from us, and we listened! In the past week, we received the below feedback from your riders.

What does Asked for a Rating mean?

A rider wrote to us stating that you asked them to rate you 5 stars during or at the end of a trip. This can really upset riders and cause them to rate you lower than 5 stars, even if they thought you might have deserved 5 stars. Riders expect 5 star experience on every trip and asking them for a rating can leave them with a negative impression of Uber.

How can I improve?

The best way to avoid the ‘Asked for a Rating’ complaint is to not ask riders to rate you during and after trips. Once a trip is complete, the rider will automatically be shown a screen that will prompt them to rate you the next time they open the Uber app. If you provided a 5 star level of service, the rider will rate you accordingly.

If we continue to receive negative feedback from riders that impacts your rating, your account will be reviewed and may be deactivated.
