1 Year Driving History - Connecticut

If you signed up to drive with Uber and recently had a new license issued, you will need to indicate you have had a US license for at least one year (three years if you are 21 or 22) to successfully complete your background check.

Providing 1-Year Driving History

A 1 year driving history may be provided by:

  • Displaying a driving license with an issue date of 1 year or longer, or
  • Displaying a driving history record

Here's how...

If You DO NOT Have Your Previous License

If you don’t have your previous driver’s license, the easiest way to prove driving history in Connecticut is to:

  1. Download a Copy Records Request (form J-23) form here. Check the box requesting Regular Driving History, fill in section 1 and sign the application. Include a copy of identification(copy of driver license, non-driver identification card or passport.) Mail completed form and a $20 check payable to "Department of Motor Vehicles" to:

    Department of Motor Vehicle
    Copy Records Unit
    60 State Street
    Wethersfield, CT 06161

  2. Once you receive a copy of your driving history from the DMV, all you have to do is submit a clear photo or scan of your driving history at https://applicant.checkr.com/.

If You Still Have Your Previous License

If you still have your previous driver’s license (or a picture / photocopy), all you need to do is provide a photo of that driver’s license to Checkr.

Click on “Upload Required Documents” to submit your previous driver’s license.

Janice's current driver's license was issued more than 1 year ago, proving at least 1 year of driving history.
